Text: Rom 8.15-17
Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Rom 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Words of the Ministry
This week we have seen some reasons why Jesus came; I like to advise those that didn’t start the series with us to go through the previous posts. I want to consider another reason why Jesus came, which is to make us the many sons of God. As we read the bible we see something quite striking and worthy of our considering, that is the dual story of adoption, we see the Lord Jesus who is the son of God was adopted as the son of a man called Joseph the carpenter so that the sons of men could be adopted by God.
God could never lose a point and Saan couldn’t deter God, just as Adam was referred to as the son of God (Luk 3.38) because his source was traceable to God, Jesus the actual son of God came to make us God’s children through adoption to reverse what Satan did, as we read from today’s reading, The spirit of God in us has made us adopted into the family of God with the implication of being the many sons of God. This is a witness the spirit gives every genuinely saved that we ae the sons of God.
As sons of God the bible further says we are joint heirs with Christ, as joint heirs we are one with Christ having equal right to his inheritance, Jeus owing ll things all power and dominion makes us joint owners, little wonder the bible says we have been blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus. Our linage is traceable to God and not man, we are free from our ancestry and generational curses, we are born of God. Hallelujah, the coming of the Godman made men of all tongues have access to the beloved, as many as believed have being brought into the household of God making us the many sons of God, amen.
