Topic: God as Supernatural Protection
Today’s Reading:
Psa 91:1-5
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Words of the Ministry:
Today we look at another benefit of God being with us and that is supernatural protection. We have within the week seen other benefits like divine blessing, supernatural provision and supernatural grace to live above sin. As we probe this topic further, we begin to see that the best life is actually lived in God, God’s call to surrender is to give us the best that he gives, such best may at times be inconveniencing, we may even interpret it as suffering but as we progressively grow in life, we see that all what God demands from us is for our good. A simple illustration is the case of Joseph who the bible said God was with him yet he suffered many things from his brothers, his slave masters, pother’s wife but at the end of the day, he became the envy of the world. Not only did his family bow to him but as many as came to Egypt to buy grains bowed to him.
We can therefore say with God, we live the best life. God’s definition of good and evil may contradict ours but he knows better because he knows tomorrow. From our today’s reading we see the benefits of the Lord being with us, the advantages of dwelling with God. As one reads through the entire chapter, we realize that most times believers suffer because that leave the secret place. When we take a stand with God, the bible promises that only with our eyes shall we see the reward of the wicked, although a thousand fall by our right and ten thousand by our left we won’t be moved. Be it armed robbery, war, epidemic or famine, those that know their God would be protected. It is therefore expedient that we learn to abide in the secret place.
Saints, we live in a very dangerous generation, its highly risky to live carefree now adays, we hear of ritual killings, kidnapping, terrorism and many evil, accidents and other vices are on the increases, just as the bible forewarned, evil has increased. To enjoy the fullness of salvation, we must therefore realize the revelation of God being with us. It goes beyond a mere dogma, it should be real to you, you must live consciously knowing you are not alone. To enjoy these benefits, we must not just read but also believe, we must expect God to intervene and when we don’t see it fulfilled according to scriptures, we must learn to ask God questions why and when he reveals what is wrong, we must make amends. So did it happen with the Israelites in occasion when they lost in war, it was due to their disobedience, lack of faith or sin, when they made amend, God gave victories.
