Topic: God as Power to Prosper within us
Today’s Reading:
Joh 3:1-2
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
Gen 39:1-4
1 And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither.
2 And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
3 And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.
4 And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.
Words of the Ministry:
This week we have been considering the implication of God with us and how we can be more God conscious, yesterday we said when we realize that God is with us we would live free of sin as the grace of God that gives power over sin is within us, because he is righteous, we would also live in absolute reverence to God. I like to look at another implication of God being with us and that is supernatural prosperity. One of the implications of God being with a man is that whatever he does would prosper. In the old testament, we see an account of a man called Obededom the Gittite who became unusually blessed alongside his household because the dreaded ark which is a type of God’s Prescence stayed in his home for 3 months ( 2 Sam 6.10-11).
Saints, we must realize the God factor with us, it gives us supernatural advantage in all we do. From our todays reading, we see the account of Nicodemus, a pharisee that came to Jesus at night and admitted before him that they the Pharisees knows God is with him because no man could do what he does without the God factor. In the case of Jesus his prosperity was miracles, sign and wonders and that is understandable because he was a preacher, to better understand the implication of God being with am man, we would see the account of Joseph in the second reading, the account said he was a slave yet prosperous and the prosperity again was traced to God being with him. This was noticed by his Egyptian master so much that he put all he had under him because even him realized all Joseph did prospered.
We would notice from the three instances sighted that the persons did not just prosper spiritually but had a physical property that all could see, it is therefore expected that as God is with you, whatsoever you do according to his will would prosper. Many have been deceived with the false gospel that God doesn’t care about our prosperity saying people have been prospering before Jesus came so he couldn’t have come for that, when we apply same logic to forgiveness of sin and healing which is covered on the atonement, we see how weak it is. God said he is the one that gives power to make wealth (Deut 8.18) and in 3 Jhn 1.2, the apostle said he wishes above all things that we prosper and be in health even as our souls prospers, again we see prosperity, health and righteous living highlighted. I like you to take advantage of the supernatural ability to proper with you, trust God in prayer to see that grace manifest in your family life, business, education, health and you walk with him.
