Words of the Ministry
Today we continue with our theme, Christ in me. Yesterday we saw the Lord ruling within the saints. Today I like to emphasize on what would be the foundation for the weeks sharing which is we as God’s dwelling place. One of the truths I feel burdened to share is the reality of God living in man. We have listened to too many sermons and watched too many movies that suggest God lives far away in heaven and that we are not worthy to be his abode. As a matter of fact, many denominations have successfully made their congregants believe that the Prescence of God is more real in the Church buildings than in their Spirit or their homes. I like to differ from such teachings as I believe that is one of the main reasons the body of Christ is suffering a stunted growth. The earlier we realize that God dwells in us and would forever prefer to dwell in the saints than to be in any cathedral, olive oil, handkerchief or water the better the Church gets delivered.
The book of Psalms said concerning the children of Israel that God rebuked nations and kings for their sake saying no one should touch his anointed ones. We saw yesterday that the anointed is the separated one for an office or a sacred purpose. I also said the actual anointing in fulfilment is the Holy Spirit. In the new covenant, we see that the saints are not just separated to God, they are his abode, his dwelling place as 1 Cor 6.19-20 suggest. God is in us and we are his current address. That is to say heaven is on earth within you just as the Lord told the pharisees that kingdom is within you (Luk 17.21). The first thing we therefore notice is that there is a caveat on every saint, that of touch not and anyone that goes against it would face the wrath of God. It is so serious that even believers can’t go defiling or destroying God’s temple (their body) as God warns to destroy such persons in 1 Cor 3.16. By virtue of we being God’s dwelling place, we have a no trespass sign on us from God against the devil. It is therefore abnormal for the saints to be under the dominion of Satan, sin or sicknesses.
Saints, God has chosen to live in you. It has nothing to do with your opinion, it is a choice he made before the foundation of the earth to make us his image Gen 1.26. From now on we must cultivate the habit of acknowledging that God live in us. That Christ has brought the fullness of the God head into us. The bible encourages us to boast In the Lord and I like us to make demands on God based on this revelation, should any situation be contrary, hold God by his word and tell him I am you dwelling place, no man should oppress me, no demon or sickness should live on me. Many times when I pass by a mall or an accident scene I see people boasting on their status, connection, etc asking the other party if they know who they are, saints we must learn to boast in God, we must be willing and happy to ask the world as occasion demands, do you know who I am, do you know I am the abode of God, a temple of God, do you know God lives in me, do you know the Father Son and the Spirit in in my Spirit? May the Lord grant us light.
