Topic: The Glory of the Sons of God
Today’s Reading: Rom 8:17-19
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
2Co 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Words of the Ministry:
As we proceed with our lesson on sonship, today we come to the matter of glory, the glory of the sons. We saw in our reading in Psalm 8 vs 5 where the psalmist said man was crowned with glory and honor being made a little lower than the angels. Looking around, we see that the natural man has nothing close to glory and honor rather he is a subject of the devil, he lives in fear of animals and spirits, he has no honor. That then suggests to us that who the psalmist was referring too was the original man Adam before his fall and the fulfillment in our days is Christ and the Church. The bible speaking concerning Christ said he was full of Glory (Jhn 1.14, Heb 2.9-10).
God intention is therefore being fulfilled in the Church through Christ in us, we therefore see that as we do the duties of sons as we saw yesterday which is loving the lord, serving the Lord and suffering for him, we are being changed into the likeness of the son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Within us is the hope of Glory, God has placed his spirit in us, as we grow in obedience into sonship, the intrinsic implication is that Christ is finding more expression through us, the spirit is permeating our soul and we are progressively being glorified. Many saints think our glorification is only sudden at the appearing of the Lord, but todays reading says otherwise, it says as we behold Christ we are being changed from glory to glory. It is therefore a progressive growth, we becoming like Jesus in image and likeness.
Dear saints, I don’t know your experience, the world around you might seem to have a certain amount of glory, the bible says that glory world would fade away (1 Jhn 2.17). The real glory is in us, we through Christ are attaining the glory lost by Adam, we are better than Adam, we are sons of glory with glorification as our destination (Rom 8.28-30), We are therefore the envy of this world, the solution to our generation, we are the many sons of God in glory. May the Lord grant us light. Keep in mind our monthly Peniel Encounter Coming up this week Sunday by 4pm and don’t come alone and please note the change in address, Christ is our Life.
