Words of the Ministry
Today we come to another important element in our journey with Jesus this year. As we aspire to attain our goals, one of the very crucial aspects we must deliberately work on while on this journey is continuous acquisition of knowledge. It is a fact that every field has its secrets, even ministry has secrets and most of our goal for the year has been achieved by some individuals in the past and even when it hasn’t, we must remind ourselves that that unknown goal in human history is known to God. Man can never outgrow learning and getting knowledge from others. Most times our pursuit would at best be a build-up on previously achieved goals, we just have to stand on the shoulders of others.
Be it secular world, business, science, marriage, ministry or self-improvement and spiritual goals, there are individuals we can sit under, learn from either directly or through their videos or books. We can also attend seminars and training. Godly wisdom from God’s world also comes through study, Paul instructed Thimothy to study. Our generation believes God would do just anything as they exercise their desires and seal it up with the name Jeus but that is not true as the bible says God has placed his word higher than his name (Psalm 138.2). So as we pray in Jesus name, we must be sure we are praying the will of God which is buried in his word. If we don’t read or learn from others concerning that will of God, we can be sure that we would just end up wasting our time.
Saints, today’s reading in a modern English version state that Pro 18:15 The mind of a person who has understanding acquires knowledge. The ears of wise people seek knowledge (GW). It is therefore evident that seeking knowledge in itself is an act of wisdom practiced by the wise. We should not remain in our cocoon thinking only prayers or bible study would do it. We should reach out, learn from others that God has helped in our destined areas while we spend time with God in his word. By acquiring knowledge, we make less mistakes, spend less time on the journey as the experiences of others would be like a ladder of progress. May the Lord grant us light.
