Today’s Reading : Pro 4:23-27
23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
Topic: Building your walls against deception
Words of the Ministry:
Within the week we have seen what deception is and the several dangers of deception, we have also seen the real face behind deception and the ultimate goal of deception. Satan as the main figure has a goal that as many as possible would join him in eternal damnation. Today we want to look at some defence mechanisms against deception. How do we ensure we are not a victim of deception. To overcome deception, we must ensure we are under the influence of the following:
1.The Authority of word: Whatever we do, we must be sure we are under the true word of God, the word of God is the greatest weapon against deception. The bible said God placed his word higher than his name, In our Christian walk, one of the most important elements we have is the word, through it we get God’s opinion in truth and by that we can easily identify deception. it is a light to our path and a weapon against the deceiver. Jesus overcame with the word, he recited what was written and the devil took flight. Therefore, to overcome the deception, we must have a strong word base.
2. The leading of the Spirit: The Holy Spirit is the reason we are the sons of God, we must never ignore the leading of the Holy Spirit. One of the ministries of the Holy Spirit is to guide us into truth and teach us concerning Jesus and the mind of God. Therefore, to overcome deception, we must be led of the Spirit of truth. Regardless of the matter or subject, when we learn to be under the influence of the Holy Spirit, we would realize that we would be guided and the Christian walk would become easy.
3. The guidance of the saints: Another great asset we have that many don’t utilize is the guidance from fellow believers, the bible says in the multitude of counsel there is safety. We must therefore learn to submit ourselves to the counsel of fellow brethren and leaders, We must share pour revelations and visions, our opinion and positions so that other saints to could confirm its truthfulness.
I believe if we do the above, we would safe guard our hearts from deception. May the Lord grant us light. Antidote to deception
