31  Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

Eph 4:32  And be ye kind one to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

Words of the Ministry:

Yesterday we saw how the devil uses guilt and condemnation against the saints, we emphasized that our past misdeed is usually brought to our mind by the accuser with the intention of making us feel unworthy before God, to this we learnt that we must remind ourselves of the redemptive work of Christ, the several promises of scripture and learn to plead the blood of Jesus on our conscience. Today we would be looking at a reverse scenario in which believers are unforgiving, holding unto the offences of others. Many believers today are held back by the matters of unforgiveness and keeping grudges. Thay have not allowed the Holy Spirit have a free flow in their lives.

The bible severally warns against unforgiveness and keeping record of offenses. As new covenant believers, we are expected to put away the old life style of keeping offences and grudges as that would not only spoil our testimony before men but it would also hinder our prayers before God. When we choose not to forgive and let go of hurts against us, we are expressing pride and ingratitude. It shows we don’t really appreciate the price Jeus paid on the cross before we got saved. Many have left the Church, marriages, jobs and other vital relationships because of offences. When we find it difficult to drop the weight of offences done against us and we keep rehearsing it to ourselves and others, it is an indication that we are still carnal and we need to renew our minds.

Dear saints, you may have been deeply hurt in the past by those you least expected, those you trusted with your life to watch your back might have betrayed you, it is really heart breaking and frustrating but we must find comfort in the words of Jesus in Mat 5:11-12  “Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Mat 5:12  Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.” Our reward is indeed great and we must never lose sight of it. May the Lord grant us light.
