Today’s Reading:Heb 8:10-12
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.KJV
Words of the Ministry:
Today we conclude our week long study on bible restitution, many would agree with me that some of the things discussed are contrary to what most local Churches preached and practiced. We owe the saints a duty to teach the true Gospel truthfully as much as we know it. Today I would only emphasize on one the work of the Holy Spirit concerning our restitution. We emphasized from the examples in the new testament that neither Jesus nor the Apostles over-burden the new converts on terminating their past, restituting their past deed was not a central part of their teaching. We said if anyone needs to do restitution, it should be those that have believed as their conscience is now alive and through confession and restitution where necessary, they are constantly sanctified. For those that have not been a part this teaching, please read through our post from previous days on the same theme.
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the triune God and his ministry is with the saint forever, he is both with us and in us (Jhn 14.16-17), many saints do not realize that they are now the temple of God (1 Cor 3.16) and the Spirit of God lives in them. Amongst other things, he would convict us of truth and righteousness, bringing to our remembrance what we have learnt. God in the old testament promised to give his children a new heart, a heart of flesh to replace their heart of stone. The implication is God would give us his Spirit that would be an enabling power to obey him and love to do so. That is the role of the Holy Spirit, that Holy Spirit is the one that challenges our heart to please God as God requires. That is why we emphasized that while the old testament saints needed the laws of Moses and whereas God had to appear in a dream to persons before the law, the Holy Spirit is the guide today, he is in our heart and in our mind not to condemn us but to convict us in righteousness, he is our great teacher that teaches us beyond what man can teach.
I like to also emphasize that we are to cooperate with the Holy Spirit whenever he convicts us, we are to respond accordingly not to grief the Holy Spirit (Eph 4.30). It Is the Holy Spirit that knows the intent of our heart, he is the one that polices our actions in righteousness and not our pastors or church dogmas. Saints we must learn to appreciate the ministry of the Holy Spirit as our Spiritual growth depends solely on him. He brings in the Law of the Spirit of life and that sets us free from the Law of sin and death, may God grant us light, amen,.
