Words of the Ministry

This week’s theme would be centered on how believers can build a consistent prayer life. For many, the month of January happens to be their most prayed month as most Churches do fix prayer programs within January and February but beyond that general prayer and fasting programs, many Christians do find it difficult to maintain their prayer altar, they become very weak in prayers, although they lament about the situation, it seems as though they can do nothing about it. The bible commands us to pray all manner of prayers, it says we should pray without ceasing, prayer therefore should be like breathing.

Most bible characters that had much impact in their generation were men of prayer, when we see the account of men like Moses, Abraham, David, Daniel etc we see something common to all of them and that is their prayer altar, same with New Testament examples like Jesus, Peter, Paul, Stephen etc, we therefore notice that one of the character of men that would go far with God is that they have a consistent prayer altar. It is therefore compulsory that we deliberately work to improve our prayer walk with God.

Saints, from today’s reading, we see the Lord giving a parable concerning prayer and like other matters the Lord taught with parable, prayer is also a privileged matter in the Kingdom. Although we won’t be considering the parable today, I like us to prepare our minds this week as we consider some practical steps to building our prayer altar. God wants us to pray and not faint. God is therefore calling us into a life of intimacy with him. Please join us within the week and share the devotional with family and friends, Christ is our life.
