16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. KJV
Romans 8.4-6
Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Rom 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Words of the Ministry
This week, we have taken some time to look at the several things God hates, we saw pride, lying tongue, a hand that sheds innocent blood, a heart that devices evil imagination, feet that rushes to do evil and a false witness that sow’s discord. We did learn that all of the aforementioned are the several descriptions of Satan as he is an embodiment of pride, a murderer, a liar etc. We can from the passage notice that the evil is related because all are from the same source Satan, a proud man would lie to cover his flaws, may even go as far as kill to cover up lies, such an evil man would be preoccupied with evil thoughts which ultimately results in leads to the eagerness to do evil, sow discord among brethren and bear false witness if need be.
The most disturbing aspect here is that unfortunately, many believers are still caught in the web of this evil, one would have expected that the church should have been totally rid of all these evil but we see persons in position of power exhibiting what the New Testament calls the works of the flesh. In Gal 5.19-21, we see the Apostle Paul making a long list and his audience were not unbelievers but saints. It is therefore important that we watch and pray so that we would not fall into temptation and be consumed by the evil one. As Pilgrims on earth it’s important to know the way of victory as many don’t like these evils but see themselves captured.
The bible gives us a solution as the natural man in the flesh is subject to Satan and sin, for us to have victory, we must turn to our spirit, the Holy Spirit within our Spirit is the way of victory. When you notice your propensity to lie, express bride, envy and slander etc, it is a sign that the Holy Spirit still has a serious work to do on your soul, we must hate the sin and call on Christ to express his fruit of love within us. We may even have to outwardly express our love, assistance and commendation to our supposed to be subject of hate, this helps to overcome the envy and the flesh within us. We can also relate this weakness with our disciplers or mature believers who could join us in prayer and if all odd fail we can confess our weakness to the person the devil is prompting us to hate, slander etc this exposes the devil as sin strives only in secrecy, this must be done with caution under the leadership of the Holy Spirit and the counsel and guidance of our leaders. May the Lord grant us light.
