16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. KJV

Prov 1:15-16

15 My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: 16 For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. KJV

Rom 12:1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Words of the Ministry

Today we intend to look at another attribute of Satan which God hates. While we saw the danger of the wicked imaginations in the heart of man yesterday, we are to consider the outward execution of such imagination, that is described as feet quick to rush into evil. It means to demonstrate a great delight and enjoyment of evil and an eagerness to participate in it.

The bible teaches that a good tree bears good fruits and a bad tree bears bad fruits (Mat 7.17), this was to illustrate the nature of man and the kind of life they have within them. We can therefore see that a man with a wicked imagination if he doesn’t seek God’s help would eventually commit such evil. For unbeliever we can’t expect much from them as the evil they engage in is as a result of the evil one within them (Jhn 8.44). As Christians not only should our imaginations be pure, our actions too should be. Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God (Mat 5.8).

When we as believers notice an eagerness to do evil which normally should be contrary to our being, we need to ask ourselves some deliberate questions and take some action steps as this is an abnormality. Check out the kind of company you keep, saints or sinners (Psa 1.1), things you meditate on, the word or the world (Rom 12.2), your willingness to deny yourself and admit your weakness (Mat 11.28), how strong is your desire for a change of condition (Mat 5.6). We must hunger and thirst after righteousness for us to be filled. The flesh naturally loves to do evil but we must crucify it daily, carrying our cross., following Jesus.

Hands joined to hands; a sinner would not go unpunished and we would certainly reap what we sow. It’s very important to maximize the provision God has made for us to enjoy an overcoming life through his word and his Spirit. The more we meditate on the word of God which is a lamp to our feet, the more we are led by the Spirit of God which guides into all truth, so would we hear the voice of the good Shepard and walk in his ways. Walk in the Spirit and you would not fulfil the lust of the flesh, amen.
