16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. KJV
Isa 1:15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. KJV
Memory Verse:
Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Words of the Ministry
Today we come to the third of the six things God hates and like we realized yesterday, each of the items on the list is an attribute of Satan. Just like pride and lies, murder, which is the shedding of innocent blood was also first perpetrated by the devil through Cain when he killed his brother (Gen 4.7). The devil calls the devil a murderer from the beginning (Jhn 8.44) and all murderers his children.
Such shedding of innocent blood may come in several form, I like to highlight some of the prevailing ones in our society today, first is the matter of abortion as to me this may just be the best definition of shedding innocent blood. We live in a society where every kind of reason is given for the need to commit abortion. It is prevalent among singles that claim they aren’t ready for marriage or it was a mistake, some unfaithful married persons too do same and engage in abortion to cover up their extramarital affairs, a number of married couples also do same in the name of it was a mistake. One thing that is common to all the aforementioned examples, they are selfish individuals that put their burning emotions first before God and the innocent Children they murder. All scenarios can be avoided as God hates fornication among singles, an adulterer would not go unpunished talk more of when it includes murder and for the married couples, they can prevent pregnancy if they must be intimate.
Our society today is also faced with another monster of ritual killings among the youths and elderly, the quest for quick money has made even teenagers go the way of Cain. We live in a society where children are poorly brought up with parents having no time for them, that has led to many of them looking up to the entertainment industry and some on air personality for direction. While those influencers flaunt their wealth, they at the same time communicate evil to the society at large. That make the youth consider occultism and internet fraud as a quick path to riches. Our Politicians too for the sake of power and wealth go all out using innocent blood to actualize their filthy ambition. I must also mention the case of terrorists that shed the blood of the innocent, the bible is not silent over your wicked deed as it says the eyes of the Lord are in every place keeping watch on the evil and good (Pro 15.3).
God is merciful only if you repent as he would come in Judgement against you if you don’t. Our memory verse clearly state, he would hide his face from you because your hand is full of blood. Are you a murderer, do you derive joy in shedding innocent blood or a you a medical practitioner that uses his/her knowledge to promote blood shed just because you want to get rich quick, an assassin or ritualist, God is against you, the wrath of God would surely visit you except you repent. Call on Jesus today and ask for mercy, give your life to him and seize from such evil and God would have mercy on you.
