20  Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21  Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Words of the Ministry:

This week we would be considering the subject of anger, God’s provision and way of victory. While our society gives several definitions to anger as it fits different soccasion and time, the bible clearly defines anger in either of two ways. It is either righteous or sinful anger. The society at times tries to masquerade sinful anger with words like one’s weakness, airing of one’s view or expressing of one’s mind, they try to suggest that sinful anger is natural, and God understands.  Some religious folks too, not wanting to admit their fault call wrath righteousness.

While anger is natural to man and can be seen even in children without being taught how to get angry, it often leads to sin when uncontrolled. How we handle anger determines whether it becomes a tool for positive change or a destructive force. This week, we will explore what the Bible teaches about anger, its effects, and how to deal with it in a way that honors God.

From our today’s reading we can see that anger is listed as one of the works of the flesh, the version uses wrath in place of anger and that suggest that while we could be angry and sin not, anger is very close to sin and can easily lead to sin. The strong warning here is that such person that exhibit sinful anger would not  inherit the kingdom of God. Many homes have been broken due to anger, testimonies have been destroyed, many have been put in prison because of uncontrolled anger. We must therefore open ourselves to the provision of the Holyy Spirt which we would be learning within the week. May the Lord grant us light.
