Topic: What is Divine Encounter
Today’s Reading: Joh 5:5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
Joh 5:6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
Joh 5:7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
Joh 5:8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
Joh 5:9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
Words of the Ministry:
Amen saints, this week we would be considering the theme divine encounter, we hope to learn what we mean by divine encounter, we would be considering God’s original plan concerning what we call divine encounter, we intend to also conscider some old and new testament examples of men and women that had such encounters, the sources of such encounters and what they did to have it and lastly we would see God’s plan for you and I concerning divine encounters as ordained in God’s economy.
A simple definition of divine encounter is when Divinity meets with humanity, It is a supernatural encounter when God decides to break protocols to visit a man and to intervene in a situation. When we say divine encounter, we are referring to situations like salvation, divine provision, deliverances, healings, miracles, signs and wonders which could be traced to God’s supernatural intervention in the affairs of men.
From today’s reading we see the account of a certain of a certain man who has been bedridden for 38 years hoping for a divine encounter (please read John 5.1-17) as an angel visits the water once a year and whoever enters first gets cleansed of whatever sickness he has. Concerning the man’s case, Jesus broke the protocol, and the man had another divine encounter from the Godman Jesus Christ, he broke the protocol of having to wait and ensuring he was the first to enter the pool. Through Jesus’ intervention, the wait ended, his situation changed instantly and what was a burden for 38 years ended with a word, so shall your situation be afterwards in Jesus name.
As we study these examples this week, we would be seeing how God intends to give us encounters and make us a source of encounters. I like to encourage you that regardless of your situation, God is in control and your story has changed because your divine encounter is now, it doesn’t matter how long you had to wait, God has promised to answer when we call (Isi 65.24, Jhn 14.13), and no situation is difficult for him.
