Life Capsule for Today                                                                          03rd June, 2024

Theme: Assurance of Salvation (2)

Topic: The witness of the word

Memory Verse for the week: Rom 8.16

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Today’s Reading: Rom 10:9-13

9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

12  For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

13  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Words of the Ministry

As we proceed on the weeks’ theme titled assurance of salvation, we would be looking at the first means of assurance which is the witness of God’s word. The bible severally assures us of the integrity of God word, in Heb 8.16, the bible says its impossible for God to lie and in Psa 119.89 it says the word of God is settled in heaven, in other words, whatever God said is not only the truth but is established. Having realized that God’s word is true and dependable, we now turn to the primary source of God’s word which is the Holy Scripture to consider its testimony, the bible says the Holy Scriptures is given by the inspiration of God (2 thim 3.16), we can therefore depend on the testimony of the scriptures.

What then does the scriptures say concerning your salvation? In Jhn 3.16, the bible says whosoever believes in the Lord shall have eternal life, and in Acts 10.43 it says whosoever believes in him shall have remissions of sin and todays reading again confirms it that if you can confess with your mouth and believe in your heart, you would be saved. The question then is do you believe in your heart, have you confessed with your mouth, then you are saved, you have eternal life and you can trust the immutable word of God.

Dear saints, we should not be deceived out of our believe, neither should we over burden the new converts, what makes us saved according to scriptures is an active believe and confession of the son of God. Salvation is not a matter of feeling, opinion of men, race and neither is it primarily a matter of deeds rather it is a product of believe, by believing, the Lord plants himself in man and from there starts a life long process of transformation and eventual glorification, may the Lord grant us light.
