Today’s Topic: Direct communication with God
Today’s Reading: 1Co 14:2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

1Co 14:14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
Words of the Ministry:
Yesterday we saw tongues as a sign to unbelievers, we tried to differentiate the public and the private use of tongues, we said the use of tongue could be used as a sign to the unbeliever when we speak an unlearned language we get the attention of the audience as it happened in Acts 2 or in the Church to convey a message to the Church in which case, we might need another person with the gift of interpretation of Tongues as Paul taught in 1 Cor 14.27.
Today I would be considering the private use of tongues. Unlike the public use of tongues, the private use as the name implies is not to communicate to those around rather is to communicate with God. When we engage in private prayers either in our secret place or in the Church, we can speak directly to God, mysteries that no one understands because we are not talking to men but God (1 Cor 14.2).
By speaking in an unknown tongue to serve our private use, we are praying with our Spirit and not our mind as we can’t tell what is being said except, we have the gift of interpretation of tongues. Such prayers are highly encouraged as we mostly would pray the will of God as revealed by the Spirit of God to our Spirit 1 Cor 2.11.
Dear saints the benefits of the prayer language of the Spirit are enormous. Paul talking about this subject said he speaks in tongues more than all those in the Corinth Church 1 Cor 14.18. As we pray in tongues, not only do we build up our prayer power praying the will of God, we also build up our faith (Jude 1.20). May the Lord grant jus light.
