Words of the Ministry:
Today as we further ponder on faith building principles, we would continue by looking at the next step towards growing our faith and that is by prayer. Having heard the word that brings faith and after meditating on it, for us to see it manifested in the physical, we must commit the meditation to prayer, we must enforce it and push until something happens, we must insist on getting the required answer having realized it is the will of God, we must birth the result by prayer. Jesus told his disciples to ask as asking brings glory to God (Jhn 14.13). If we stop at the point of meditation without praying, we are just having a wish and it would never come to pass, there is no such thing as God understands, what he understands is our prayers. We must ask to receive (Mat 7.7).
The bible said those that ask must ask in faith, here we see the missing link why many prayers are not answered because it doesn’t follow the right order, many times we say we have faith but to have faith as far as the bible is concerned is for the request to be the will of God because faith cometh by the word, that is the origin, the source of what you can have faith or call faith must be the word. When the word is right we can meditate then that should lead to effective praying, that is the meaning of asking in faith, i.e asking according to God’s will. It is to know the will of God supported by his word, meditate on it by brooding over it and then praying expecting to see what you saw while meditating.
Many believers stop at the point of reading the word, a few meditate and stop there, they never pray, they compare this dispensation to the old testament, they say God said it and he would do it, they have forgotten we are responsible for the affairs of the earth as the new lords of the earth (Mat 16.19). We must remember that our battle is spiritual, in our mind where we pull down strongholds (2 Cor 10.5-6), where mediation takes place, we battle with prayer to make it a reality in the physical. To do this is to take the shield of faith which has been saturated with the word to quench the fiery dart of the enemy. Without prayer, faith is just wishful thinking; quoting scripture without praying is just a mental exercise, a prayer of faith makes the scriptures come alive, shalom.
