Words of the Ministry:
Yesterday we started a study on the theme, victory over stagnation, we learnt that stagnation isn’t God’s will and that stagnation could affect any area of our lives if we are not observant. We also stated that financial prosperity is not an indication of spiritual progress and that a man could be spiritual and still suffer stagnation in certain area of his life if he is not watchful. The bible clearly warns us not to be ignorant of the devices of the enemy 2 Cor 2.11. Today, many question God, they say why me over certain issues of their lives especially when it is obvious, they are suffering stagnation in certain areas of their life. What many don’t know is that God is expecting us to act while we are waiting for him to act. This dispensation, God has committed his power to us to undo the works of the devil (Luk 10.19) and he has also given us the Holy Spirit to overcome the flesh. Today, I would be looking at the two forms of stagnation experienced by many.
Stagnation is primarily of two forms namely physical stagnation and spiritual stagnation. Spiritual stagnation is a spiritual problem of no progress that affects the inner man. Such is the natural situation of an unsaved person, he is bound, possessed or oppressed by the devil, some have suicidal thought and could suffer obvious retardation in life. For a believer suffering spiritual stagnation, it affects his/her walk with God, it would be noticed that there is no growth spiritually or growth is stunted, such believers are bound by sinful habit, full or regrets and negative testimonies, they don’t love the word, they prefer every other thing outside prayers and fellowship is a burden to them.
Physical stagnation on the other hand expresses itself physically causing retrogression, delay, failure mechanism or moving in circles like the children of Israel did for many years. Persons suffering from such put in much efforts but what he or she gets is minimal success or obvious failure. They sow good seeds but reap tares, it is a state of fruitlessness and make people ask the question where is your God? It has made many backslide or apportion blames to God. Some in their ignorance call it the will of God and suffer like that till they die. The devil has blind folded many to see human enemies too and not the evil spirit behind the problem. Some, their problem is from themselves as we would be learning within the week. The bible encourages us to be wise as the serpent and gentle as a dove (Mat 10.16). Join us tomorrow as we begin to unveil the major reason even Christians suffer stagnation.
