Theme:   Victory over stagnation (1)

Text: Jer 29:11

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. NIV

Topic:  What is stagnation

Today’s Reading: Deut 1:6-8

6 The Lord our God said to us at Horeb, “You have stayed long enough at this mountain. 7 Break camp and advance into the hill country of the Amorites; go to all the neighboring peoples in the Arabah, in the mountains, in the western foothills, in the Negev and along the coast, to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon, as far as the great river, the Euphrates. 8 See, I have given you this land. Go in and take possession of the land that the Lord swore he would give to your fathers — to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob — and to their descendants after them.” NIV

Words of the Ministry:

This week, we would be considering the matter of stagnation which is in direct conflict with the will of God for us. The passage we read today is in reference to the children of Israel, after they have spent 40 years for a journey that could have taken a few days. They suffered stagnation and that affected their God ordained timetable. As we look into the theme this week, I hope the Lord would illuminate our hearts so that we don’t fall into errors that could stagnate our progress and for those already in such situation, we pray the lesson for the week would show them a way out.

We must settle in our minds that stagnation is not God’s will for us. We must also not equate financial prosperity with spiritual growth. In the course of our lesson, we would need to examine ourselves to be sure if truly we are representing what Christ died for. Stagnation or to be stagnated is to be in a state of no progress, in that case, an individual Is either stagnant, retrogressing or moving in circles. Having no progress despite salvation is a sign of stagnation, stagnation at times is a sign of a curse, it is either spiritual or physical and noticeable in area like spiritual life, marriage, business, education, finances etc and if nothing is done about it nothing would change (Mat 16.19).

We must realize that demons are real and they do not die and ignorance is not an excuse. Demons and negative situations don’t answer to motivational speeches or wishful thinking. As far as we are in this world we must engage in spiritual warfare and such warfare is for our organic growth in Christ. Join us through the week as we investigate the matter of stagnation and the provision God has made for our victory. Please spread the word, share the post, and invite friends to like our social media pages. Christ is our life.
