Words of the Ministry:

This week., we have a glorious theme to consider and I believe this sharing would give us an opportunity to further emphasize on some kingdom realities. Looking closely at our memory verse for the week, at least we would immediately notice some key point, 1. God has a secret place, 2. Some individuals dwell there, 3. Dwelling in the secret place has a lot of benefits. I like to start by saying not only does God have a secret place but that God loves to hide himself. If many believers were asked to mention the names of God based on his relationship with mankind, most persons would skip the title presented to us in today’s memory verse, that is a God that hides himself. That seems opposite our natural human attitude, while we love to show ourselves, our God loves to hide himself. We should be seeing this in the course of our study and we would also be revealing that secret place.

As we survey the bible, we see God making an abode with man in a particular location on earth first in the garden of Eden with the created race headed by Adam (Gen 3). The called race too had a secret place where God met with man, the bible records that Abraham the head of the called race met with the almighty God at the altars Gen 12.8. Another familiar story is that of Elijah in 1 Kings 19. 11-13, the Lord was to speak with Elijah and Elijah expected to hear him in an earthquake but he wasn’t there, in a strong wind that tore mountains and rocks apart but he wasn’t there, in fire but he wasn’t there eventually God hid himself in a still small voice.  Jesus the creator of the universe came into the world, hiding himself as a carpenter’s son, he so hid himself that he was named after a city called Nazarene that an average Israelite looks down upon, Nathaniel had to ask, can any good thing come out of Nazareth. When the Lord revealed himself in Mat 17.1-3, he immediately told the disciples not to tell anyone all because he loves to hide himself.

Saints, this week we intend to look into the character of God as a God that has a secret place where he dwells only known to a few. While we can say God is everywhere because he is omnipresent, we can also say God is not everywhere as he is holy, for instance God in not in the unsaved as the bible revealed, the account of Sodom also shows he never entered Sodom because of her sins and in the book of revelations, we see the Church in Laodicea Rev 3.20, we see the Lord standing outside the Church instead of being in the Church because their deeds were evil. I like to encourage us to spread the word, invite friends and family to like our social media accounts on facebook and youtube, Godman gospel mission and godman media respectively, shalom.
