18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. KJV
Words of the Ministry:
Yesterday we learnt that Christ through salvation begins to work himself in our being, spreading through the spirit to our soul, in the soul he works on our mind, our will and our emotion, our views and ideas get transformed, we begin to reason as he does. This process leads to transformation as we progressively conform to his image and we become glorified even in our bodies. The process of redemption to glorification is a lifelong one and as we walk closer with the lord, we see how much difference exist between us and the need for further growth and conformity. Today, I like to further emphasize on the process of making the vessels of glory.
The path to glory is rough and lonely, that’s why a few follow it. Jesus telling us in the gospels said the way to life is narrow (Mat 7.14). Jesus told his disciples that to follow him, we must hate our lives (Luk 9.23), carry our cross daily (Mat 16.24) and prefer him to our families. Saints the path to life is a path of suffering. When the Lord begins to walk in us, we encounter situations and circumstances that break our old self, many that are proud may be humiliated, some that are full or rage may find themselves in embarrassing situation after such outburst, those that depend and trust in money may become broke and those whose confidence is in men would be severally disappointed, we would learn to take no for an answer and suffer rejection where necessary, God the potter has the exclusive right to make us into whatever he chooses using any instrument as he sees necessary, our duty is to trust and obey like true Christian soldiers.
The bible in 2 Tim 3:12 says Infact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, and the word of God teaches all things work together for our good even the persecution is to lead to our transformation. In 2 Thim 2.20-23, we are told that in a great house are many vessels, some to honor and others to dishonor. The vessels here are believers and the house is the kingdom, In God kingdom, we choose what kind of vessel we want to end up as based on our attitude towards the dealing of the Spirit. We must learn from not just the bible but our dealing encounters. As God deals with us and we deal with him, we get transformed and conformed into his likeness. A man that was so anxious after some years of dealings now lives a life of trust and obedience to the lord. When men see us as we carry the cross they should glorify our father in heaven as we radiate the light of life. May God grant us light.
