Topic: The making of vessels of glory (1)
Today’s Reading:
Prov 20:27 “27 The lamp of the Lord searches the spirit of a man; it searches out his inmost being”. NIV.
Words of the Ministry:
Amen, today we proceed with the theme vessels of glory and we have learnt that our God is the God of glory, he created man in his image to enter into man, man therefore being his container and he the God of glory, the content. We said while Adam lost the opportunity because he didn’t eat from the tree of life, we see Jesus again making it possible for man to partake of the tree by entering man’s Spirit through regeneration. We saw Paul in our previous lessons saying in Rom 7:24-25 “24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? 25 Thanks be to God — through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.” NIV. Paul complained of the flesh that leads to sin and eventually death, that was the consequence of the fall, after the shekinah left Adam, all that remained was flesh of death, but thanks to God, Christ brought deliverance to all that believe.
Today we intend to look at the way of progress, how God in his infinite love has destined that man be glorified, occupying his destined estate. The bible teaches that our Spirit is figuratively the candle of the Lord. In other words, every man that comes to the world, comes in darkness and needs the light of God to lighten his Spirit. We learnt from the gospels that Jesus is the light of the world (Jhn 8.12) and not just that, it also teaches that light is life, he light every man that believes with the light of life (Jhn 1.4). That light is the glorious light that gets ignited when the glorious gospel (1 Thim 1.11) is preached and received in our spirit, our spirit receives light of life.
Christ through salvation begins to work himself in our being, spreading through the spirit to our soul, in the soul he works on our mind, our will our emotion, our views and ideas gets transformed, we begin to reason as he does. This process leads to transformation as we progressively conform to his image, we become glorified even in our bodies. Christ from our Spirit; leaves a visible imprint on our bodies. We are the light of the world bearing his glory. Our day to day living suggest to all around us that we have been with Christ. The bible encourages us to be transformed by the renewing of our mind Rom 12.2. This happens as we meditate on the word of God. As we gaze on the Lord who is in our spirit, dwelling on the word and fellowshipping with the saints we become more like him, transformed from one level of glory to the other until we attain his stature at his return (2 Cor 3.18).
