Words of the Ministry:
Amen, yesterday we began looking at the theme, dominion over witchcraft. We considered the two definitions of witchcraft and we also learnt that witchcraft is seldom used in isolation. For those that missed yesterday’s lesson please visit our facebook page to read it. Today we would be progressing by looking at how people get involved in witchcraft.
From our today’s memory verse, we see a city bewitched by a certain sorcerer called Simon, who for long time through the power of witchcraft has been able to convince the entire population that he did miracles through the power of God. He was well respected and because they didn’t have the Spirit of God themselves to discern spirits, they fell for his lies. The devil in the last days has such men in religious places posing to be great prophets and apostles but are using the power of witchcraft and sorcery to bind individuals and members, creating fear in their hearts.
Many get involved by seeking evil powers, some are deceived when they seek help from the occult, evil religious organizations, some through gifts like food and drinks, this is very common among children, parents must be careful with their children as they are the most vulnerable. Some persons also contact witchcraft through intercourse, sexual immorality, some through dreams, others through evil movies and pornography while some from their parents, a demon gets into their soul to heighten and actualize their evil desires.
It’s unfortunate that even in the church, we see witches and wizards, many because they are not born again, some born again but still consult fake prophets for quick miracles. Another category is those that have joined a false church empowered by the power of sorcery, while the most common category is that of believers that don’t see the need to overcome the flesh, when the work of the flesh in them gets heightened to a certain degree they easily catch a demon that actualizes their wicked desires. When wicked imagination, envy, evil speaking, malice and wrath takes over the souls of a Christian and the Christian doesn’t see anything wrong with it, in a short while, such a person would attract a demon that would rule the soul. Please note that demons won’t enter their spirit as the spirit is exclusively reserved for God but their souls would be ruled by a demon making them live like the unsaved. Some have undergone prayers and deliverance ministration but in a short while got oppressed again because their minds are not renewed, the demons have access to them again making them captives Math 12. 43-45.
