Topic: The promise released
Today’s Reading:
Luk 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
Rev 5:11-12 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
Words of the Ministry:
Today we intend to look at the reward God promised Abraham and his seed Jesus, we have learnt that the actual heir is Jesus, and we are joint heirs with him. The promise is not for Abraham but for his seed and the actual father is God the father who releases the blessing on us the sons. God made a promise of giving himself to Abraham as a reward (Gen 15.1-2), that he has fulfilled through the death and resurrection of Jesus. When Jesus rose from the dead, we rose with him (Gal 2.20), we became the many sons of God. That gave us the privilege of inheriting God as the Spirit (Gal 3.14). The Holy Spirit is God in our Spirit, and he is the actual reward God promised Abraham.
Again from today’s second reading, we see what Jesus received and we received being joint heirs, in Rev 5.11-12, we see a list starting with power just as Acts 1.8 indicates, when the Holy Spirit which is the actual promise comes, we receive power, so is riches, little wonder the apostle says God shall supply all our needs, wisdom is also listed there, so is strength, honor in place of shame, glory as we have received the God of glory and blessing with the bible saying we have been blessed with all spiritual blessings, Hallelujah, what a mighty God we serve.
Hallelujah saints, as we read through the scriptures, we see that indeed we have received the foretaste of the promise with its fullness made available in the coming age. When we read through the 7 items in Rev 5, we may ask what Christ would do with them, what will he do with power, riches, and honor, he has received that as the heir for us his joint heirs, now by virtue of salvation, you have power, wisdom, glory, honor, strength, blessing and riches. You are too blessed and protected. All we need to do is to shine in our various endeavors as we have the backing of heaven, you can’t fail, God is in control, you are more than a conqueror. May the Lord grant us light.
