Topic: Where would you spend eternity?

Today’s Reading:

Rev 20:12-145

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works……

15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Rev 21:2-4

2  And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3  And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Words of the Ministry:

Today we come to the conclusion of our lesson on the theme being born again. We have seen within the week the portrait of the unsaved and their relationship with the devil the enemy of God. We have realized that God’s great offer can’t be quantified in monetary terms, and neither is it available for sale. While the unsaved brags about their earthly riches and status, we have seen from the weeks lesson that they do all that because they have not seen who they really are and neither have they seen how empty and poor they are without Christ. So, as we round off, the last lesson I like to emphasize upon is where the unrepentant would spend eternity.

The bible teaches that there is life after death where everyone would either receive a reward or be judged (Heb 9.27). Our living now therefore is a determinant of what our life would be after our sojourn on earth, while the saint would rise to receive a reward, the unbelievers would be facing the divine judgement of God. The distinction between the future experience of the saved and the unsaved is their attitude to the gospel (Jhn 3.17-18).

From our today’s reading, we see the unsaved both rich and poor, young and old, male and female before the white throne of God facing eternal judgment and having their destiny eternally fixed with the devil in the lake of fire only because they decided not to accept the gospel. The second reading shows us what the fate of the believers are, the bible records that they would eternally be with God. They would be free from whatever pain and sorrow they suffered while on earth. The believers would eternally live the life God destined for man in the garden before the fall of man while the unsaved would just be beginning their sufferings. Dear reader, the time is now for you to accept God’s great offer, save your soul from the impending eternal danger. Jesus is Lord.
