Today’s Reading:

Gen 3:14  And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life

Gen 3:17-19  And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; …..

Gen 3:19  In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Words of the Ministry:

As we continue our lesson on being born again, today we would be considering another reason why you must be born again and that relates to our status of either being dust or stars. By dust I don’t mean our natural flesh makeup as is commonly said during burial that dust you are and dust you would return, rather I mean what man became because of the fall of man. The matter of man being dust is not a small thing, as we read our text for today, we see God telling the serpent that his food would be dust and we see God telling the man that he would be that dust meaning every unsaved man is food for the serpent.

Again, we can see that not only is the unsaved a descendant of the serpent, but he is also food for the serpent. As much as you ae not born again, it doesn’t matter how good you are, how prayerful you are, how many deliverances session you attend, how well you donate in Church, you are still going to be food to the serpent. Little wonder many attend deliverance programs only to have a temporary relief. After some time, they are caught up with the same woes they sought deliverance form. Some even make the mistake of thinking the Church or Pastor isn’t anointed, they go seeking deliverance without being delivered from sin.

As we contrast the first Adam and the Last Adam Jesus Christ, we see the difference between dust and star, in Revelations 22.16, Jesus is called the bright morning star, in 2 Peter 1.19, he is again referred to as the morning star shinning in our hearts and in Daniel 12.3, the bible says those that lead other to righteousness would shine as the stars forever. We becoming stars is a great contrast from being dust we are far above principalities and power, we are the light of the world, as for natural men made of dust, the serpent moves in their midst, they are his food and he can do with them what he wishes but hallelujah, we are born of God we are living stars we are no more food for the serpent. Dear reader, what are you, dust or star?
