Theme: Seeking the kingdom of God (3)                                       30/01/23

Topic: The Kingdom of Gods as growth of Christ in us

Memory Verse: Matt 6:33-34

33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. NKJV

Today’s Reading: Eph 4:11-16

11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head — Christ —  16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. NKJV

Words of the Ministry:

We learnt previously that Christ is the seed of the kingdom and that the kingdom is the seed(Christ) in our Spirit. Today we want to look at the way of progress as believers shouldn’t only have the kingdom of God as Christ in them but also be in the kingdom of God until their whole being becomes one with Christ having the same life and nature. To achieve this, the seed in us must grow, Christ must have his way within us some much that he overcomes our language, tribe and traditions. Our only culture would then be Christ Kingdom Culture. In contemporary human culture, when one kingdom invades a weaker one, they impose a king over the conquered kingdom with the hope of spreading the culture of the new kingdom in the conquered kingdom and eventually replacing them so much so that the conquered kingdom becomes an extension of the new kingdom. They influence their culture, language and believes, they even influence their food and dress code. They change their laws and make sure their allegiance is to the new kingdom.

Paul speaking about the new kingdom of God invasion which starts firstly within us and then through us said in Gal 4:19-20 “19 My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you” NKJV, His goals for the Church at Galatia was that the Christ in them should replace their Culture, should have an expression, that Jesus becomes their new culture. Saints we are bearing the seed of Christ which God intends becomes a mighty influence over our personal lives before using us to extend his kingdom in others. From Today’s reading we see God placing several ministries Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Teachers and Pastors for the building up of the saints, the kingdom people until we come to the fullness of Christ. The glorious kingdom of God is within us, the seed needs to be watered and the water is the word of God. As we bow to the authority of the word, we grow in life, the Kingdom of our God is established with us, with time we can also say, if you have seen me you have seen Christ because Christ lives in me, the king of the kingdom is in me, I am a kingdom ambassador, I am an expansion of God’s kingdom on earth. May the Lord grant us light.
