Topic: Samson’s hair grew again
Today’s Reading: Judg 16:25-30
25 So it happened, when their hearts were merry, that they said, “Call for Samson, that he may perform for us.” So they called for Samson from the prison, and he performed for them. And they stationed him between the pillars. 26 Then Samson said to the lad who held him by the hand, “Let me feel the pillars which support the temple, so that I can lean on them.” 27 Now the temple was full of men and women. All the lords of the Philistines were there — about three thousand men and women on the roof watching while Samson performed.
28 Then Samson called to the Lord, saying, “O Lord God, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God, that I may with one blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes!” 29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars which supported the temple, and he braced himself against them, one on his right and the other on his left. 30 Then Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” And he pushed with all his might, and the temple fell on the lords and all the people who were in it. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than he had killed in his life. NKJV
Words of the Ministry:
Today we want to look at how Samson ended in praise, after losing his sight and hair, the bible said the Philistines invited Samson to come and perform, to entertain them, we see that the enemy of our soul wants us to leave ministry for entertainment. Many saints today have lost their vision, they now do entertainment in place of ministry, they ae called to excite the church or motivate men to give. Fortunately for Samson, he had learnt from his mistake, the account said he prayed for the second time, the first time was when he was thirsty but this time it was concerning his life and ministry, the first time he prayed a kingdom related prayer. I believe the prayer is a result of repentance, while in prison, it dawned on him the evil he had done to God. He prayed and his hair grew again, he prayed and he was again strengthened to destroy his enemies. He killed more men that day than his entire life. Samson repented and was converted and God forgave and restored his ministry. Today we learn a lot from his life and ministry. Samson eventually made the list of the Heroes of faith (Heb 11.32).
Dear reader, I wouldn’t know your current status with God, I don’t know how far you have left your concentration. I don’t know the distance you have gone with Delilah but I know if you repent today and you are converted, our God would forget your past and restore the Holy Spirit within you. You may have even left Christianity or become an atheist. The hands of our God is not short to deliver or his he deaf to hear you, your sin is the hindrance (Isi 59.1), repent today and you would be restored. Isa 55:7 “7 Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.” NKJV. May the Lord grant us light.
