Words of the Ministry:

The week we would be considering the theme power from on high, I like to encourage us to invite friends and family to like our page and as much as possible do share the lessons for the week through your social media link as I believe the Lord has a lot for us. When we look at Jesus, we would all come to the conclusion that he was a superman indeed. We see him do so many unimaginable glorious works during his earthly ministry. He did several miracles such as healing the sick, multiplication of bread, raising the dead, getting miraculous money out from the fishes’ mouth, casting out devils etc. He also exhibited an unusual knowledge, he taught Peter to fish, taught the Torah despite being unlearned and answered complex religious questions to the astonishment of the scribes and Pharisees.

Jesus had an irresistible speech, his conversation with the woman at the well in Samaria was so charming that she did not only repent but brought the city to the Lord, he probed the pharisees leaving them with questions they couldn’t answer and answering their questions with so much wisdom that they couldn’t argue. Another example of such might in speech is the case of the adulterous woman, she was delivered by a sentence, Jesus asked her accusers if they had no sin and they all left without a word neither could they hurt the woman. He lived a sinless life, always doing the fathers will and the father was well pleased with him. When we compare his life to ours, we notice a great gap, to better appreciate what Christ did during his earthly walk, we must see him as a man, though was God became a man to live the normal human life. All he did, he did through the power of the Holy Spirit (Mat 3.16-17), though fully God chose to live with the limitations of man, that is called kenosis (Phil 2.6-7), showing us an example of what God wants us to be.

His disciples saw his glorious life and power, they wanted to be like him, in a particular occasion, they tried to cure a boy possessed by an unclean spirit but failed (Mat 17.17), he came and healed the boy, they asked why they couldn’t but were told it was caused by their unbelief. They learnt how to pray from him hoping that was all they needed but they still noticed a great gap between them and him.  They became further bothered when he announced he was leaving (Jhn 14.19). He told them not to be sorrowful, he made them a promise (Mar 16.15-18 and Jhn 14.12-16). To send them the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of power that made him live a supernatural and well pleasing life. Saints, this week, we would be considering the power from on high, the power with which Jesus changed his age, the supernatural power that makes a man live like a superhuman. Spread the word and Join me tomorrow as we consider the promise of the father.
