Words of the Ministry:
As we round off on the week’s theme, I like to comment a little on the living water living within us. Yesterday we learnt that the living water is within us, we don’t need any man to dip us into the pool, neither do we need to go to heaven to bring God down as God is within us. The kingdom of God, its power and its glory is a living reality within us. The implication of the living water in us is that not only does it meet our immediate need; it remains a solution to even needs that has not arisen. We can therefore say for all those blood bought, there is no emergency as God’s provision (the Holy Spirit) takes care of our past, present and future needs, amen.
Jesus speaking to the woman at the well of Samaria said whosoever drinks of the water he gives would never thirst, what a glorious reality. Not only would we have the living water after salvation, the water within us continually runs till eternity. The implication of this imagery is that we are not just the reality of the moving water, we are also the help needed to enter the moving water. Remember the man at the pool was limited because he had no man, we are the man to dip the needy into the living water welling within us. In Acts 10:38, the bible says “ How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him”. The anointing which is the living water within us is for doing good. Just like Jesus went about dipping men into the living water within him, he also commissioned us to do the same (Mark 16:14-18).
Saints, the Lord has committed his spirit to us, the spirit through which he did miracles that even the Pharisees could not deny his authority. The power of God is within us, we are not to wait for the sick to find us, by sick I mean the unsaved, oppressed, sick and poor. We are to go in search of every avenue to help the sick dip into the living water within us, we are to make all those we can relate with experience the power of the Holy Spirit. Miracles, signs and wonder are meant to be a daily experience of the saints. It should be normal that on the Lord’s day meeting we share testimonies of the number of souls we saved through gospel preaching, sick healed, oppressed delivered etc, We must move from being the sick needing healing in the church to the soldier of Christ healing the sick and bringing them to the church to ensure they are also enlisted for the Lord’s work, that is what it means to let the river flow, that is what it means to be the light of our world. May the Lord grant us light.
