Topic: The Kingdom is Expanded By Power

Memory Verse: Matt 6:33-34

33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. NKJV

Today’s Reading: Rev 12:7-11

7 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. 9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. NKJV

Words of the Ministry:

Today I like to further comment on the expansion of the kingdom of God that we have learnt to seek, yesterday, we emphasized that we are the light and the salt of the world. Our living is to bring spiritual and physical solution to this world of sin. Yesterday we also saw how the church used the keys of the kingdom bringing in both Jews and gentiles. Today I would be considering an imagery in the book of revelations that suggests to us how the kingdom is being expanded as God’s intention as we earlier learnt is that we invade the earth with the kingdom culture. From our today’s reading, we see an imagery of a future event in which Michael and his angels fought down Satan (the dragon) and his angels. In the 10th verse John now said a loud voice announced that hence Satan and his angels has been fought down from heaven, the kingdom had now come.

That is another meaning of the kingdom coming, we saw one way of the kingdom coming to be the planting of Christ in our Spirit but today it is to expel Satan and his works in our territory. The saints are soldiers of God’s kingdom and we are to announce the victory of our Lord, sustain it and extend it. In Mathew 11.12, the bible said the kingdom suffered violence and only the violence take it by force. In the gospel, the Pharisees and the Sadducees were the ones contending with the establishment of Christ kingdom on earth but the Christ and his saints saw to its establishment by force through the power of the Spirit. Nicodemus testifying of this in john 3.2 said the Pharisees knew Jesus was from God, they testified of the power at work in him. In Mathew 12.28, Jesus said hence he cast out demons by that power of God, the kingdom had come against them.

Paul speaking concerning the kingdom said the kingdom is not just in words but also in power (1 Cor4.20). Saints if we really seek the kingdom and want it established in our various sphere of life, we must do it through the power of God resident in us Acts 1.8. This power grows by use, by prayer, by fasting and by praying in the Spirit. Using the power of God, we can determine what our environment would look like, we can banish idolatry, witchcraft, poverty, sorcery, immorality, unbelieve and the likes. With the authority of the kingdom we can bind and lose. We can say no to sicknesses and sudden death, we can destroy ancestral altars and powers. May the Lord grant us light.

Bible in one year: Ezekiel 22-24
