Topic: Why believers many don’t enjoy the secret place
Bible Reading: Hos 4:6
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.KJV
Words of the Ministry:
This week our burden has been on the theme, dwelling In God’s secret place. We learnt God has a secret place, which is open to a few who are believers, we mentioned a few benefits of the secret place and how we can enjoy them., We emphasized that from eternity past, the plan of God was to dwell in man and this he eventually achieved through Jesus’ death and resurrection. We believers are now God’s dwelling place and because we don’t look like it outwardly, we don’t realize we are his secret place, if someone asked, where is God, we should be bold to say, if you have seen me, you have seen God because he dwells in me. Jesus during his earthly life said a time is coming that men would not say the kingdom is here or there because the kingdom is within us. Today the Kingdom is within man, we are his secret dwelling place.
As wonderful as the truth of we being God’s secret place is and the unlimited blessings it affords, we see many Christians not enjoying the benefits it offers. That is what we intend to consider today, the reasons why some don’t enjoy the benefits of being in the secret place.
- Some believers don’t dwell (Ps 91.1), by this I don’t mean they are not Christians but like the psalmist in psalm 23, he said he as a sheep is led by the shepherd to green pasture. The implication of this is that for us to enjoy the benefit of the secret place, we must always ensure we are in his will Rom 8.14-15, Gal 5.16, Eph 1.3. Our blessing is tied to the lord in the spirit, when we walk in his will, we enjoy them in full. To walk in the spirit also includes, to dwell In his presence, in his word, to keep up with the fellowship of saint and to live a life of prayer.
- Lack of Knowledge is another reason why many don’t enjoy the secret place and many pray amiss, the devil loves it when we don’t know our right in Christ, that is why he wants the bible to remain a closed book to us. Hos 4.6, Isi 5.13.
- Failure to claim the promises of God, Ps 91.2, Rom 10.10. When the Lord gives us an insight into his will for our lives, we are not just to listen, we are to believe and enforce it on earth. The devil tries to fight the will of God and we believers have been the given the power to undo his works, we have the power to bind and loose. Concerning your right in Christ, you must learn to enforce it through prayer.
- Human errors and mistakes, Mat 4.7, Ecc 10.9-10. Many also suffer because of their human errors and mistakes, we need to realize there is a consequence for every action and some experiences we have is not caused by God nor the devil but our choices.
- Breaking God’s edge is another reason many suffer like the unsaved despite being in God’s secret place. Job 1.9-10, Ecc 10.8-9. Many today are afflicted because of sinful living, carelessness, wrong counsel, negative words, rough and dangerous life style. May the Lord grant us light. Please keep in mind our Peniel Encounter meeting scheduled for today and tomorrow by 4pm.
