Life Capsule for Today Date:29th August 2026
Theme: Vessels of Glory (7)
Text: Rom 9:23
And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, KJV
Topic: Our Destiny as Vessels of glory
Today’s Reading: Rom 8:21-23
21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. KJV
Words of the Ministry:
As we Conclude our lesson on the theme “vessels of glory” we intend to look at the eternal plan of God to make us vessels of glory in eternity past and how it would be fulfilled in eternity future. We have previously learnt that the fall of man affected not only his Spirit but also his soul and his body, his body now changed to sinful flesh. We also learnt that God has chosen to make man his temple, his dwelling place and as a result spread his glorious life to the soul and eventually to the body of man. That is called glorification, so man is saved in the three parts that were affected, Spirit Soul and Body. By that process man becomes one with God not only in Spirit (Image) but also in soul and body (Likeness).
Paul saying a prayer in our today’s bible reading states that the whole creation groans for the liberation of our body, a situation where our flesh is glorified, transfigured from sinful flesh to a glorified body. He said even he was groaning in hope because he couldn’t actualize it being the first fruit of the Spirit but we see an example of this in the life of Jesus (Matt 17) when he was glorified before his disciples. Paul said the whole creation was waiting in expectation of that. Glory be to God as the saint walk with the Lord, we don’t just expect the transfiguration (glorification) of our bodies at the Lord second coming, we believe that the light of God’s word is doing something in us that would become even visible as we walk with him and grow in life. We see an example in Stephen Acts 6:15 “15 All who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel”, that was same experience we see in Moses Exo 34.29-35 and Jesus in Luke 9.29. In the three experiences highlighted, we see the God of glory and so is the destiny of saints, we are to express the indwelling God to such a point that our bodies bear his likeness.
Looking into scriptures we see two main instances of glorification, one is at the coming of the Lord 1 Jhn 3.2, which says when the Lord shall appear we shall be like him, as he is glorified, so shall we be and secondly in 2 Cor 3.18 and James 1.25 we learn that as we spend time gazing on the Lord by meditating and obeying his word we ae being changed from one level of glory to the other, there is an organic progression of the God-Life in us. Eventually at the end of this age, God and man would be having the same likeness of jasper and precious stone which is glorious (Rev 4.3, 21.10-11). Hallelujah, Gen 1.26 id fulfilled, God eventually gained man in his image and likeness, amen.
