Topic: The word as God’s means of transformation

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. KJV
Words of the Ministry:
Amen saints, this week we would be looking at the ministry of the word, what the word does to improve on our individual lives towards conformity to the image of Christ. Overtime we have seen how dangerous and wicked the unregenerate soul is and we have seen the unlimited evil that runs through the heart of man. The bible describing the heart of man said Jer 17:9-10 “9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings”. That desperately wicked heart needs the Holy Spirit and the word. When a man gets saved, we expect him to have a new heart as the bible promises, but what we notice is that some person though regenerated in their Spirit remain as wicked and sinful as they use to be in their soul, the heart is as bad as it was. This brings to question if their salvation is genuine.
After regeneration which is the coming alive of our spirit previously separated from God, It is God’s Spirit entering into our Spirit, its instantaneous and all believers have the same Holy Spirit in their Spirit. The reason many believers don’t experience a transformational change in character even after being saved is that the Holy Spirit has been limited to their Spirit, by God’s plan, the Spirit of God is meant to from our Spirit saturate our soul through sanctification and leading to transformation and conformity to the image of Christ and eventually the glorification our bodies (Rom 8.28-30). This second phase after regeneration requires our cooperation with the Holy Spirit that has entered our Spirit, we must be open to him, cooperate with him as he uses the instrumentality of the word to renew our minds daily Rom 12.2.
This week we intend to look at how we are to cooperate with God to ensure God has his way in our lives. What we must do as we relate with the word of God to ensure we attain the full maturity of Christ. Our memory verse says the word of God is so powerful that it can pierce through the soul and spirit. Many ask themselves if their actions are from their spirt or soul, if a particular leading originated from God or themselves, the answer is in the word of God, As we proceed, we would within the week see how much we have neglected the word of God and the effect of this on our organic growth.
