Words of the Ministry
This week I would be considering the matter of our assurance of salvation. We live in a generation where there are too many erroneous teachings on every Christian doctrine especially on the core doctrines that relates to salvation. Many denominations began on the various difference held by different individuals as regards what makes an individual saved, Despite the simplicity of the Gospel message of the new birth and particularly as it relates to regeneration which is the salvation of our Spirit, many still have doubts about their salvation.
From today’s reading, the Apostle John said, he has written to the saints that believe on the name of the Lord that they may know that they have eternal life and that they may believe on the name of the son of God. Reading this passage may seem a little confusing as you would notice that he said they believed, they had eternal life and that they might believe. That is the reason for this week sharing, many saints believed, thy have eternal life but strange doctrines, personal experiences and the society make them to doubt their believe, it is therefore essential that their faith is strengthened with knowledge.
Saints, what makes us saved is as simple as ABC, A being accept we are once sinners in need of a savior (Rom 3.23), B being believing on the name of the son of God (Acts 4.12) who died and rose for our salvation and baptizing us into his name (Jhn 3.3,6) and C being to confess his Lordship over our life (Rom 10.10), not denying him as we journey with him. From the above we notice that there is no emphasis on your character, clothing or action yet as the new life in Christ starts with the ABC. Saints, have you taken these steps, I like to emphasize like the apostles that you may know you have eternal life, join us with the week as we explore the theme, assurance of Salvation. May the Lord grant us light.
