Words of the Ministry:

Saints, today we proceed with our lesson on the power of praise, we have learnt that all things were created for God’s praise, we also saw two examples of supernatural intervention through praise, the first was the case of Jehoshaphat and the other was the case of Paul and Silas, the bible is rich with such records of God stepping into the affairs of men as a result of praise. Today we intend to look at some of the intrinsic benefits of praise and we would be considering Godly focus and humility.

Most times, we tend to forget our source of strength, we get so engaged with the affairs of life that we begin to feel everything depends on our commitment and smartness. When we read motivational books or listen to motivational speakers, they tend to emphasis mainly on what man can do with the power of discipline, focus and self-control. Then overtime because of the earthly results, it seems to bring distraction from the true God, the source of all things. Praising God therefore helps to re-focus our thought towards God, it helps us to see less of our selves but God. The Bile teaches by strength shall no man prevail (1 Sam 2.9b), and the watchman that watches without God’s intervention watches in vain (Psa 127.1).  Many believers, if not properly guided or made to fail in some of their pursuits build confidence in their ability and that eventually leads to pride and over confidence.

We must make it an attitude to live a life of praise, our victories must be linked to him, even for those events that seem not too good, we must still thank him because if not for his intervention, the devil would have consumed many of us. Like the psalmist, the bulk of our sacrifice must be praise, as that’s all we can offer. When we read through the psalms, we see David praising God despite his trials, he always made room for praise, he knew the power of praise and he was a man after God’s heart. Saints to overcome pride and to imbibe the attitude of humility, we must focus less on our earthly achievement and more on God, we must always remember the source and give him praise. Believers must never compare themselves to mere men. Many do and end up having an air of pride as a result of their achievements. Let’s imbibe the culture of Praise because without God, we can do nothing. Please join us on the 29th of June for Peniel Encounter, shalom.
