Theme: The Ten Virgins (1)

Memory Verse: Rom 6:6

6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin NKJV

Topic: A Clarion call to all believers

Today’s Reading: Matt 25:1-5

“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.  2 Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish.  3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them,  4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.  5 But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. NKJV

Words of the Ministry:

Saints this week we would be considering the one of the several parables in the bible. The parable of the 10 virgins which is a parable pertaining to the coming kingdom. As we read the gospels, we see the Lord speaking in parables to the children of the kingdom, ensuring the meaning is hidden from those outside the kingdom. Parables simply put are earthly stories with spiritual meanings. Most times natural day to day terms are used to hide the meaning of some kingdom mysteries, such mysteries are normally understood by comparing scriptures with scripture. Parables are a good way of portraying deep spiritual teachings in very few word. Such is the case with today’s parable as we would be considering it this week.

The first thing we would notice is that the parable talked about virgins, by implication that refers to Christians as we see in 2 Cor 11:2-32 “I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. 3 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.  Although some were said to be wise while other were foolish. I would like the reader to read Mathew 25. 1-13 to have a full view of the passage. In the course of the week, we would be noticing that the Lord despite calling many virgins still has a perquisite for selection.

We would be seeing how a Christian despite being saved and dying a Christian may suffer loss not only of reward but of certain enjoyment even after this world. We would be looking at the matter of outer darkness and what it really means, the implication and how to avoid it. Key words like the trumpet, lamp, oil, vessel would also be considered as we trust the lord for a life transforming encounter. Please share the massage with friends and family and keep in mind our monthly physical meeting which comes up at the end of the month, the 30th of October. Shalom.
