Today’s Reading: 1 John 5:11-15
11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. 14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us — whatever we ask — we know that we have what we asked of him. NIV
Words of the Ministry
Today we continue our lesson on Zoe having seen the example of Jesus and how we can gain the Life. We would spend our time on walking in the reality of Zoe as we have previously learnt that this life is in us but needs to grow. Commenting on Zoe in him, Jesus in Jhn5.26 said he has the same quality of life as the father, this life was in Jesus as the fullness of God Col.29, thesame life Jesus offers to us in Jhn 3.16. In Jhn 20.21, Jesus sent his disciples to do what he did, he sent them because they had same capacity. As we remember Jesus’ word Jhn.12.24, the grain of wheat would produce same substance in a larger quantity, so we can conclude that the same life that enabled Jesus do miracles, signs, wonders is in us. The same life that gave him access to angels, command nature, etc. When men encounter this light it is called different names but it’s the same life, e.g the sick call it healing, the oppressed call it deliverance, the poor call it prosperity, the depressed call it liberation, the unsaved call it salvation etc.
So how do we engage this life?
To faithfully and maximally engage this Zoe, we must do the following:
- Be born again Jhn3.3
2. Be spirit filled Act 1.4,8
3. Know him through the word 2Thim 2.15
4. Meditate on the word Jos 1.8
5. Pray read the word 1 Jhn 5.14
6. Practice the word, Jam 1.22-25
With all the above being done, we would be an expression of God on earth bringing glory to God.
