Words of the Ministry:
Today we would be looking at another way of protecting our home. Many people often neglect the matter of making deliberate sacrifices especially with time and resources. This generation believes in everything fast, fast food, fast cars, crash courses etc. Some bring same to their home making their homes suffer. To have a proper Godly home that would reflect Christ and be an example to others, we must be willing to make sacrifices. We must have time for our spouses and our children, we can not push our God ordained responsibilities to others as the consequences are always sorrowful. Time and resource management is another way we must labor and battle to keep our homes.
It is common for families to bring in maids and they eventually leave their children upbringing into the hands of such maids. Many wives want to be married with kids but live as singles. Some even say their children is a burden and would find any and every excuse to stay away from home. Same applies to the men, they prefer football, hanging out with friend, religious acctivities etc than to laboring on their children. Believers must be different as our home is constantly under attack because the devil wants to corrupt our seed and the next generation. To bring up proper children, we must be willing to be spent, for our home to be right, couples must spend time together. Many love the excuse of work thereby shifting the battle to one person. The child we don’t train today would cause us tears tomorrow.
Having a proper home requires strategy and planning, it is like building a house or going to war. We must count the cost. It would affect our usual spending habit, our time allocation and management. We must never miss the opportunity to correct, rebuke and comfort our partners and children as time demands. Many today train their maids thinking they are pampering their children, eventually, the children become useless to themselves and the society. We must labor while it is day using various strategies prayerfully. Jesus in today’s reading said whoever intends to build a tower must sit down and count the cost so as to be sure he has what it takes to complete it, else he would be seen as a failure. Dear saints, that tower is your home. Sit down to count the cost. May the Lord grant us light.
