Words of the Ministry:

Today we come to the conclusion of our lesson, battle for our home. In the course of the week, we have learnt how important it is for us to battle for our homes and the several steps we must take to ensure we win the battle in our homes. I like to draw our attention to the matter of accountability to God and man as we play our several roles as priests and watchmen over our homes. We must keep in mind that we are accountable to God for the life of our spouses and children, we have been given a task as stewards to which we would receive either a discipline or reward based on what we do with those God has placed under our watch and care. Having this behind our mind would help us to administer our homes as a service to God.

We must never see our spouse and children as just a matter of chance, we can see the arrangement of genealogy from scripture and how prophecy foretells the birth of certain persons from particular linages in a particular family and how they would play major roles on earth. An example is Jesus who was prophesied to be from the linage of David, the son of Jesse. So is everyone on earth we have specific roles to play and God depends on our homes to perfect his purposes on earth. Our choices a times may disrupt God’s original plan if we don’t live conscious of his purpose. As we can see from today’s reading, everyone of us would give an account of his living to God. You would account for the roles you played as a husband, wife, father and mother. Don’t think heaven is not watching. The bible spoke concerning the high priest Eli who never cautioned his children. His children who should naturally be priests after him. We see from his account how he failed God and affected God’s original plan.

Dear saint, we shall all stand before the judge of the earth and give account of our life and living, our stewardship and sacrifices. What would your excuse be? Would you say you needed to build a career, make a name for yourself or even build a church while you neglect your primary assignment of building your home? Many today are trading their homes for dollars abroad; they have left their primary assignment for covetous living. They don’t mind exposing their family to societal danger over mammon. May the Lord grant us light. Always remember that your first ministry is your home and what shall it profit you if you win he world and lose your home.
