Today\u2019s Reading: <\/strong>Isa 43:7  Even<\/em> every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mat 5:16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Words of the Ministry:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we proceed with the theme, light of the world, we would be looking at God\u2019s goal of receiving glory. When we read through the bible, we see that all what God created was for his glory (Rev 4.11) including the Church, the new creation.  Mankind being the crown of God\u2019s creation was to bring him much glory. We saw from previous lessons that the Church is the Light, the Church here is the universal Church, the body of Christ, we also learnt that the world would hate us because we have brought light to expose their dark deeds.  Today we would be considering our central ministry which is that we bring glory to our God. In Mat 5.15-16, we learnt that its not God\u2019s intention to hide us even as we are in this evil world, rather he wants to place us on a candle stick so that the world around us would see the light and marvel, bringing him glory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We may ask ourselves, what is the implication of this especially as we also consider the famous prayer of Jesus in Jhn 17.15 where he prayed that the father should not take the disciples away from the world but keep them from the evil one, that would again suggest the importance of the Church to the world. The first thing to note is that the value of light is only seen in darkness, the greater the intensity of darkness, the more we appreciate light. That then suggest that the negative situations we find ourselves has been orchestrated to enable us to shine the light, to reveal the life within us as sons of God so as to bring glory to God. Saints, its not a coincidence that the world is in so much turmoil in our days, the intensity of darkness has increased so that the Church would be much more relevant in this age and time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we read the end-time prophecies concerning the reign of evil in the last days where men shall be at their worst (2 thim 3.1-5), we must remind ourselves of prophecies like Joel 2.28-32 where God promised to show greater wonders in the end time and Hab 2.14 that promise the earth would be filled with the Knowledge of God\u2019s glory, that is the Church fulfilling its mandate in the end times bringing glory to God. We are therefore expected to shine such light in all areas of human endeavour, in science, in politics, in medicine, engineering, commerce and industry and family life, the Church which is made up of the saints are meant to take the lead, in healing incurable sicknesses, discovering the needed vaccines for prevailing ailments in our days, finding solution to global warming, famine, civil unrest and the likes. We are meant to use the wisdom of God to make innovations and ultimately bring the glory from such discoveries to our God. When the Church does otherwise taking the back seat allowing the darkness to intensify, we could be likened to a candle that has been placed under a bushel. May we wake up to our responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
